2021 Small Lot Sharp Sisters
On the nose, the wine is complex and inviting, offering a bouquet of strawberry, cherry, and plum which are balanced by faint notes of roasted coffee and tobacco leaf. The palate is bold yet refined with the fruit forward flavors leading the way and supported by the earthiness of coffee, tobacco, and subtleties of eucalyptus. The tannins are firm and dusty, lending structure to the wine with a freshness of acidity adding balance to this complex red blend.

Vineyard Notes
The fruit for this wine is grown in our acclaimed estate Spice Cabinet, Cavalie, and Eagle & Plow vineyards in the Horse Heaven Hills. The fruit is exposed to dappled sunlight, allowing for uniform ripening and flavor development. Well-balanced crop levels have allowed us to create wines with great depth and concentration.
Production Notes
These grapes were harvested and sorted in the vineyards with our "Selective Harvester" to allow for maximum hang-time and flavor development. The fruit was not crushed in order to preserve as much whole berry as possible. we fermented the fruit in stainless steel tanks with twice daily pumpovers to extract color and flavors. After fermentation, the wine was racked to 55% new American oak for malolactic fermentation. The wine was barrel aged for 18 months.
